Fundraising
In July 2007, Victoria Electricity introduced a fundraising program to help support charities nominated by our staff. This is a combined effort between our staff, our Charities Committee and the charity groups we support during the year.
Our contributions
Victoria Electricity matches all funds raised by staff, dollar-for-dollar, and contributes this directly to the charities chosen by staff. We also provide support to raise awareness for these charities around the company.
Our supported charities
The fundraising program is a team effort to promote and support the charities that our staff want to support. This involves a voting process where staff can nominate any charity they wish. Our staff and Charities Committee then select the top nominated charities on which our support will be focused throughout the following year.
For 2009, Victoria Electricity staff have nominated these organisations for our fundraising:
Beyond Blue
Breast Cancer Network Australia
Cancer Council Victoria
RSPCA.
Eco-Gold Environmental Fund
Every time a customer joins Victoria Electricity, we contribute $1 to the Eco-Gold Environmental Fund to support eco-aware initiatives in the community.
